I really like that you are referencing a very elemental period of art history that spans almost a millennium. It's a very interesting take on such territory. I really like your work, especially Sybil is Bathed and Healed by Nymphs and Martyr. You mentioned in your statement that you combine lengthy stories with your work - awesome. I'd definitely like to read some of your writing.

Sorry to hear that. I had the same situation last year. All 5 schools I applied to I was rejected. It definitely hurt, but nothing could ever come between me and my artistic convictions and getting into grad school. This last year really made me up my game and really prove myself, not just as an artist, but as a person. It was definitely needed. Most my mentors applied 2, even three time to get in and now I'm amazed by what they are doing. Learn from this and make next year even better and apply to the same schools, it shows them how much you really want it. This year, one year later: one acceptance, one rejection, and two interviews. Best of luck and by all means don't give up! Use it as fuel!!

I didn't see the 'belittling' that you did. I actually read her last thread as a joke - and, after reading her other previous threads I wouldn't take any of them that seriously. I was just stoked for her because I'm sitting here waiting for the same after an interview with them. So, I'm not sure where you're going. All the best at MICA! Peace!

If I got into USC I'd be just as stoked. Where have you seen bullying? I highly doubt USC would weed out any of its 8 candidates, they put way to much time into selecting them. 2% acceptance rate. As far as arrogance: you have to have a little to make it in LA, too much of it and your faculty and colleagues will let you know your place right away.

Congrats!! Yeah, their program really hook$ it up. When and how did you find out? I had a skype interview on the 8th of March. They said they'd have their decisions by the end of the month after spring break.

Congrats on UCLA!! It's a very hard school to get into, especially sculpture - its mainly a painting and drawing school to be honest (but, that leaves you with a ton of floor space . I went there as an undergrad and all I can say is: it has Everything, faculty, massive galleries, equipment, amazing campus, cool people, great location (Bel Air) and all the equipment you could ever dream of on the main campus (grad facility is very lightly stocked). I wished I could have gone there for grad school, but they will not take ANY of their undergrads. Definitely consider it.
