I did confirm this with the graduate office at Western. Some people who were wait listed would eventually refuse the award to be held starting January and then it will be passed on to someone else. So, it seems as a year-long process!

Still waiting for any updates... But the lady at the Graduate office at Western said that they keep receiving upgrades and scholarships up till September and even December where some ppl agree to take the scholarship say in May and they plan to start in December but then they change their mind just before joining. So there is still a long time period where upgrades can take place.

What I understood from their letter that the scholarships are not distributed based on the ranking only. It is not like the first ten in the list gets a CGS and the next 20 gets a PGS. They have some way of distributing them. Depending as well on the ranking but not solely.

Any updates at all of people receiving anything from NSERC?
-
It is definitely not going to be before first week of June
-
So this year's blog is dead compared to last year's !
-
How did you find out this information? I am a PGS/CGS Applicant.
-
Thanks alot for the information. How did you find out about your ranking? Like who did you contact at NSERC? And when do they announce the June results? Like the first week?
-
So you accepted the award before 1st of May as PGS and they sent you an email again in June upgrading the scholarship to CGS?
-
Upgrade? Don't they usually collect all the rejections and downgrades amounts, pool them and send people who DID NOT get scholarships an offer? I don't think they do upgrades
-
I am assuming they are filling it manually so some of us might have got the results where others not yet. Keep hope alive!

It seems my University is reluctant about releasing the information to each person on his/her own. Last year they just updated the student centre for everyone and that is how we found out about the results.
-
So Universities are working today. Maybe they will update their scholarships systems soon.

Same here, PGS D. Did not hear anything yet. However, when I applied I was still starting my second year master's, and I was wondering, will they use PhD students criteria for evaluating my application since it is for PGS D or will deal with the question of awarding me or not as they would with a master's student?

Any news from Western University?
-
Believe this is less than the past years' budgets :/
-
What is this year's budget and how does it compare to last year's?
-
Do they do that? Like cross-awarding?? So if someone's name was listed for a CGS, he will also be listed for a PGS?
-
Considering that i am new to all this, Who declines NSERC scholarships? Like why?
