  1. No. That is simply Fulbright asking if they can interview you. The actual form to accept/decline the award will come from your host country... or at least that is how it worked for me.
  2. I would imagine there is a decent amount of nepotism among Fulbright recipients, so finding employment connections in the future could be a benefit... improving a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc. language could be a benefit... probably looks good on graduate school resumes... At the same time, there are negatives... lost wages... unemployment when returning to the US... potential dangers in the country you are conducting the research... if your research project is not relevant to your career interests, it may not be beneficial...
  3. Thank you.
  4. Hi Everyone, I wanted to know if anyone had heard of someone who had received a Fulbright grant, but was then subsequently rejected prior to departure because of a medical problem... seizures/blood pressure/psychological issues/etc. etc. In that they had their physician fill out and submitted the Medical History and Examination Form and were then denied the grant. Are they extremely strict when it comes to medical clearance? Thank you everyone for your help
  5. Hey, I was accepted to Chile today. I will add my info to the chart. This blog was very helpful during the application process and I thank everyone that was posting relevant and informative tips and suggestions. I sort of clocked out once it became a place for people to publicly display their angst about acceptance. Thanks again
