  1. My focus is Gender & Politics, second stream Political Theory. I'm already at Queen's doing my MA so I just talked with the professors I'd like to work with in person (MacDonald and Little). What's your focus and who did you contact? It's a great thing you contacted people you would like to work with - that is one of the main things the selection committee looks at when reviewing applicants. Also, who'd you like to work with at UVIC? Almost went there for my MA before deciding on Queen's.
  2. Good to know - thanks for the tip! And IRToni, I'm from the Lower Mainland - you'll love Vancouver/UBC. Good luck!
  3. I'm guessing everyone will start to hear back early March - last year for MA programs I heard back early February from SFU (Feb 6, accepted), and then from UBC, UVIC, and Queen's (all acceptances) within the first two weeks of March. Just a question (in case anyone knows) - is it typical to hear back later for PhD programs?
  4. Anyone applied for PhD programs for Fall 2014? I'm waiting on UBC, York, LSE, and Queen's (currently doing MA at Queen's).
  5. A little late to this thread but may as well share: Applied to SFU, Queen's, UVIC, and UBC for MA in Political Science, focus in Contemporary Political Theory/Gender & Politics: Heard from SFU February 6th (Full Acceptance) Heard from Queen's University March 4th (Full Acceptance) Heard from UVIC March 4th (Full Acceptance) Heard from UBC March 13th (Full Acceptance) All great programs with fairly comparable funding (Range of 10k-15k for all of them with guaranteed TAships). Accepted Queen's offer last Wednesday and turned down SFU, UVIC, and UBC yesterday in case anyone is on the wait-list for any of those school. Good luck and congrats to everyone!
