  1. Had my interview with SFAI MFA today- it was rather short, but John was quite nice. I guess I should have taken more time on the open ended questions, but it's just not my style to ramble in conversation! Still, he said he liked what he saw and he could definitely see me in the program- now back to the waiting game! Still no word from Carnegie Mellon, folks?
  2. rzmfa15- My decision would depend on how much money i have set aside in the bank, if any OR how much you'd be willing to work or take out in a loan (though I know you'd rather not- I don't think anyone WANTS to!).. 2k for the year wont last long. Having said that, that's a pretty good financial offer on the school's part (tuition and 2k?!). If you like the school enough, I'd take it. Who knows what offers would be made next year. If however there are schools you'd like more, hold off. you can save up and work more in the upcoming year, and do a fully dedicated application rotation next year. I don't know how old you are, but for me the clock is ticking on getting my career going!- so for me that's a factor as well. When does the pressure of time overpower base loans? TLDNR: young with eyes elsewhere: wait. like the school and have financial options: take it.
  3. Hi there, I was in a similar situation in 2013. I had been in a program that was not meeting my needs, and with whom i had a... difference in vision. It was a tough decision, especially financially, since I had not been getting full funding- by leaving then I was basically leaving 20k behind, not to mention the year. The money still makes me bitter, but I think it was for the best. I don't regret it, and look on it as an expensive, cert-less post-baccalaureate. I would weigh how much you've invested in to your current program vs what you would potentially gain by being at another program. Is it worth it? I wouldn't rely on getting in to the other school either (though you may still have it!)- diversify your application. Approach it like you're starting over, and do your research in to schools with your new experiences in mind. Good luck
  4. Hi all, I've gotten interviews with SFAI and PNCA. I have not recieved an invite from UOregon though- hoping it's a result of a tardy LoR. Has anyone heard from UCONN or Carnegie Mellon? Anyone with insight on their interview process and dates? Good luck!
  5. i've been waitlisted at Brooklyn College for the Drawing/Painting MFA- i've been told i'm in the "top tier" of the list. I know it's not a major school, and therefore i have not seen many posts about it here, but has anyone else heard from them? anyone passing on an acceptance? lol Also, i applied for the MECA "medium residency" MFA. Haven't heard anything, nor can I find eta for responses. Anyone know anything about them?
