  1. Just letting everyone know, sounds like they have started reviewing applications this morning at U of T.
  2. I have a friend who was just accepted off the wait list this Monday!
  3. Hi everyone, This question is for any current UofT MPH students (preferably health promo). This is the only active forum and hopefully someone will see this! What is the workload like? I've been looking at timetables and it seems that there will only be about 9 hours of class in 1st semester. Is it similar to undergrad with the amount of studying outside the classroom? The reason I ask is ultimately because I want to get a job while at school and I'm worried I won't have time. Thanks!
  4. Just accepted Toronto's Health Promo offer. Rejected Queens HP yesterday and will be rejecting Alberta HP today so a few spots should open up!
  5. I know for health promo I haven't even received my official letter in the mail yet. So if Epi is the same situation, I don't know about wait list offers going out this week because 1st round people haven't had the chance to accept yet. Probably a few will accept/reject right away because the official letters SHOULD be coming this week, so maybe a few offers will go out Good luck!
  6. Anyone who still may be waiting the official letter from Alberta, I just received mine today so you should get yours soon!
  7. Wow you sound very accomplished! I'm surprised you didn't get in. I got accepted with a 3.8 GPA, in a Health Promotion undergraduate degree and other stats as well but I feel like yours are just as, if not more applicable than mine. This makes me think that they really must rely on the LOI... but I'm still shocked.
  8. Yep just got an email today saying I was approved by the Faculty of Graduate Studies and my status has changed on Bear Tracks to "conditional offer".
  9. I personally will be accepting, but I know a girl in one of my classes who plans on rejecting and going to Queens.
  10. Haha you got it! Dr. Irwin is great and after taking her course I feel so prepared!
  11. Mine is under review as well and I wasn't interviewed... I couldn't interview anyway because I am out of province. On a happier note, I've been accepted to all three programs I've applied to, Queens, Alberta and Toronto all health promo. I'll most likely be going to Toronto depending on finances. Good luck to everyone else and hang in there!
  12. I get the feeling that Toronto is one of, if not THE most prestigious in Canada for MPH and I get the feeling Queens isn't as much. This is solely based on me reading these forums, so anyone else feel free to disagree with me!
  13. Sure! GPA is about 3.8, I've worked 2 summers in a retirement home as a Personal Support Worker and Charge Nurse, graduating with a BHSc, honours specialization in Health Promotion. Executive member on ButtOut! - a anti-tobacco advocacy club as well as very active in my sorority, Alpha Phi - most prominent role being the Vice President of Chapter Operations. Dancer on UWO Dance Force. Taking Advanced Health Promotion this semester and getting experience conducting a focus group, needs assessment, epidemiological assessment, social marketing campaign, evaluation and executive summary. That's all I can think of right now!
  14. Yes I just received an offer from Queens as well today for MPH. That's Alberta and Queens so far, so I'm more hopeful for Toronto now!
  15. Did anyone else just get an email from U of T regarding housing for the upcoming year? I applied to MPH Health Promo. I'm hoping this is a good sign!
  16. You have time for U of A. April 5th is only the deadline to tell them you're still interested in going there, not an official acceptance
  17. Mine is still under review as well for U of T Health Promo
  18. Me too! Congrats! Does anyone know after you have been recommended to the FSGR how long it will take for the official offer?
  19. The April 5th deadline is just to tell them that you PLAN to accept, it's not a formal acceptance. So if for instance you had already been accepted and decided to go somewhere else, you'd tell them not to bother recommending you to FSGR. I just got the same email from UofA for the MPH Health Promotion stream.
