  1. Hmm...I feel like a bunch of adrenaline just went into my stomach and I have no release.
  2. Haha, 155! Well, either way, I appreciate the community that this forum has built around the Fulbright stress. It definitely is a lot better for me to troll on here regularly instead of taking that anxious energy into my professional and academic life. If I am recommended, I plan on spending the evening dancing along to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LqHBdRlGHKg and if not, cuddling with my cat.
  3. So I'm sure if I read through all previous pages on this forum I could find the answer, but does anyone know the award chances if you make it past the first round? 50%, 60%? I have no idea and I'm sure it also varies by country. Also, applied for research in S. America. I think it is a bit ridiculous that for the country I applied to, you are supposed to start in March. If I find out in February, that is basically no preparation time. Maybe enough to squeak in a visa...just maybe. It would be nice to know so I won't have to leave mid-semester and take a bunch of incompletes and still have to pay full tuition.
  4. Lets save the regional conflict for the real world :/ Queenskid, I'd be glad to help you out however I can. Post your e-mail at some point- or create a temp one if you feel uncomfortable posting yours and we can talk about all things porteƱo.
  5. Queenskid- I lived in Palermo. Nice area to spend you free time walking around and taking pictures of street art. Well, if you get it, I would be more than happy to send you a list of tips. You can't give up hope because then I must also give up hope (no dates confirmation e-mail).
  6. Queenskid- where are you planning to stay in Argentina? I spent a year there during undergrad.
  7. I agree about it dampening the sting. Either way, not receiving the dates confirmation e-mail has given me time to mope/mourn. Regardless, I will be obsessively refreshing my inbox towards the end of the month. Bon courage!\
  8. As one of the few who didn't receive the date confirmation e-mails, I also had a letter of affiliation from the organization I had lined up an internship with as well as specific courses listed since I got in touch directly with the academic department at the university. One of the professors even agreed to take me on as a research assistant-which lined up perfectly with my research for the Boren. My academic advisors told me that the chances of not getting this fellowship were 'impossible'. Joke is on me and them. What is worse is that they ask me almost every other day for an update and I smile and say I don't know yet, knowing that it is a 99% no. I guess that just means they had one hell of a talented applicant pool
  9. For selfish reasons, I hope the date confirmation wasn't an indicator of making or not making it to the next round. It does seem suspicious that only two on this site, myself included, did not receive the e-mail. Also, if I recall correctly, cm125 and I are both planning on starting the program in January (fellowship granted), so maybe it really just wants to square up dates for earlier departures and nothing more. The suspense continues.
  10. I also did not receive an e-mail asking about date verification. Damn my academic advisors for telling me there was no way that I wouldn't get it. Well, now I know.
