  1. Hi, I am in a similar situation as you. I am currently a NYU graduate student, attending part time due to the cost of school and living here. It has also always been my dream to live in NYC and it has become a reality. The reality of it though is that it is really expensive, as anticipated, and it's really difficult to actually live out here if there is not a steady income of money, especially if while going to school you are trying not to acquire massive debt. I am in the process of switching to SU for their Masters program in New Media Management, but keep waffling back and forth because I came out here for opportunities. With NYU I feel that the money spent is not necessarily for the education, but for the connections and networking which they can provide you. From talking to others about my decision to switch schools, I am continuously told that the education from SU is great and they are able to provide strong alumni connections and other networking options. Long story short, if you are ready to move to the city, be away from friends and family, pay the crazy prices for a small living space, and mature extremely fast (not sure of your age) then NYU is a good choice. BUT, if you can wait an extra year or two to finish a graduate program that will save you money in the end and potentially lead you out to the city I would say chose SU. Hope this could help a little bit.
