Fuck. I'm an alternate for Tanzania. As I have no back-up plan, anybody recipients are highly encouraged to decline :-)

Two questions: 1. For Sub-Saharan Africa grant recipients, does anyone have an estimate for the size of the grant? 2. Does anybody know the date (for SSA applicants) that we are expected to fly out?

For all sub-Saharan African folks-- looks like, according to the Google Docs, tomorrow might be a potential day to hear back. Does anybody know when the average time of receipt for confirmation emails is? Morning? Afternoon? I put all my eggs in this sweet, sweet Fulbright basket, and I'm frightened. Anybody else for Tanzania/Zanzibar?

Are there any other applicants here for sub-Saharan Africa that I can commiserate with?

Two questions: (1) Did anybody else here apply for Tanzania? If so, do you have an estimate of when we should hear back? (2) On the Fulbright Statistics site: http://us.fulbrightonline.org/studyresearch-grant-application-statistics, does anybody know if the "Applications" number is the total number of applications, or just the ones forwarded to the last stage? If the latter is the case, does that mean that only half of the total has been forwarded to the Final-round committee? Thanks.
