  1. Hi Everyone -- Next year, I was planning on applying to graduate school in the US and MA programs in Canada (both for Economics). I know that certain schools are better for certain people, however I am just looking for a general approximation of how high I should aim. Ideally, I would want to go to the University of Toronto MA in Economics Doctoral Stream (The fully funded stream). I have had several professors read my letter of intent and have only recieved positive feedback. I also have two great reference letters from two distinguished economics professors. School: York University Program: B.A., Spec. Hons. Economics Cumulative GPA: ~7.2 out of 9.0 Major GPA (Economics): above 8.0 GRE Quant: 169; GRE Analytical: 5.0 Unfortunately my cumulative math GPA is around a C+ because I was a math major for two years and my grades were not outstanding due to external issues outlined in my letter of intent. Grades - Economics: Intro to Micro - A Intro to Macro - A+ Inter. Micro I - A Inter. Macro I - A Inter. Micro II - A Inter. Macro II - A Labour Economics: Theory (Writing) - A+ Approaches to Global Economics (Writing) - A Industrial Organization - A International Trade - A Monetary Economics I - A Use of Economic Data - A+ Financial Economics - A+ Advanced Macro - A Advanced Micro - A+ Econometrics - A+ (Masters) Labour Economics - A (Masters) Auction Theory in Industrial Organization - A- Grades - Recent Math Courses: Inter. Mathematics for Economists - A+ Computational Mathematics - A+ Grades - Math Courses in Progress: 4th year - Experimental Design 4th year - Probability Models Other math courses that I have completed but with relatively low/average marks in my first two years include: Calc 1 & 2 & multivariable, Linear 1 & 2, Proofs, computing for math & stats, stats 1&2, elementary probability, and mathematical theory of interest. Although it may not be relevant, I have also held many club memberships and executive club positions, including president and vice-president. Additionally, I have roughly 4 years of experience in insurance. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
