I'll be graduating with a 3.4 GPA from the University of Colorado's Cell Bio program. I have one medical software internship, one biotech internship, one semester of cardiac research using RT-PCR, and one year of independent research with cryo-EM. My project, however, has been a disaster thus far and I have no data!
Although I believe I could get into another electron microscopy lab or perhaps stay in the same lab for graduate school, I honestly can't stand being in a dark room alone for six hours a day. What are some research areas that are more hands-on or people oriented? My interests lie mainly in pathology and infectious disease.
Can I even get into a PhD program with my low GPA and lack of independent research data?
