Hello,
I have low gpa i.e 2.94 in chemical engineering undergraduate program from India (Pune University). And last two years GPA is 3.03 (as some universities require gpa of last 2yrs like Missouri state). Currently preparing for GRE and looking for Petroleum engineering masters program. I have 1 yr work experience in equipment designing for oil refineries and other chemical industries. So is there any chance of getting into Petroleum engineering masters program if I get good LORs, SOP and high GRE score(320+)?(funding not expected)
Also, as my background is from ChemE, I need to take basic courses in PetE. So is it possible to get conditional or provisional admission considering my backround mentioned above and maintain their require GPA to get full admission. Chemical and petroleum engineering programs have only 30% same syllabus, so do they evaluate all my subject grades or common one?
I am looking for these universities-
University of Alaska, Fairbanks
University of Houston, Texas
University of Kansas.
New mexico tech.
Missouri state university.
Louisiana state University
usc
I am not expecting top uni like A&M, Austin, Uni of Louisiana, Colorado school of mines. But like to know about chances of getting into them.
