Hi all! Just wondering for those who have successfully been accepted to the MLIS/MAS or dual program at UBC, any advice/tips/suggestions for a newbie who is considering of applying (who does not have any prior library background at all but it interested in potentially pursuing) One of the requirements asks for three references, 2 preferably from academic sources and the third from a librarian. For someone with no previous volunteering experiences at a library, getting a ref from a librarian may be difficult until after some volunteering work. Is that a good way to go?!? What are your suggestions? What advice would you guys give to a complete newbie in this field! Thanks for all your help! Greatly appreciated
