Hi everyone I had no problem signing into my GRE account a couple days ago. Suddenly, each time I sign in it says "We Need More Information About You" and is making me fill out all the info I filled in when i created the account and wants to make a new account for me! But i've had this one for a year!! I'm trying to contact the ETS but they are very busy and I desperately need to order additional scores, so thought I;d check here if anyone has ever faced this problem and has any tips for me? My TOEFL account is working just fine! Thank you to anyone who replies!!

TakeruK, may I ask if you used interfolio? And if you did, would you know if it is possible to use it partially? That is only for LORs and send the rest of the application using the university application system? Thanks a lot for all your help!

Right, thank you TakeruK, you have been most informative! I knew it was going to get expensive, like even more than 1000$, but still hearing 1000 makes me weak!!! It would all be worthwhile if I only got through! Otherwise...

Hi All Was just wondering if any one has any advice on what is the general trend with respect to transcripts today? Do US grad schools mostly ask for scanned copies of transcripts to be submitted online? Or is it more common for them to want hard copies mailed? I know it differs from school to school, just wanted to know if someone can tell me the average trend? Cuz I am applying to 15 schools and was wondering if I should apply for 15 transcripts? I have to apply for 4 degrees and it would get kinda expensive! And I don't have my final set of schools quite yet, but am eager to apply for the transcripts right away! Thanks a lot and would appreciate any feedback!

Hi everyone I'd really appreciate a reply for this. I want to know - is it possible that I use each individual university application system to send out everything else, but just for 1 recommender out of 3, i use interfolio? Or is that if I am using Interfolio for 1 recommender, that means the entire application for that univ will have to be sent using interfolio? Hey German Student I had a lot of trouble with the AW section too, just cuz there is so much out there to help you with your quant, verbal but hardly anything on this section. Magoosh is great. Are you referring only to the blog? Cuz if you sign up for the lessons, you have one set devoted to AW, which is great. That in combination with the Magoosh blog, where for example they divide the question pool into topics. Barron's book helps you to identify these topics as well. But the most helpful thing I think is going painstakingly through all ETS solved examples. They have 2 for their practice tests on website and 2 in their official guide book (that I am aware of). They might have more. Really examine how the top scorers have answered. And before that, write out the answers yourself and then compare to see how you are falling short. It might not be immediately clear, but by the 3rd or 4th solved ex, one starts to see patterns. Its also not enough to just answer the prompt not keeping the specific task instructions in mind. All top scores have that in common that the answers are framed using the word "argument/claim/recommendtaion" etc that are there in the task instructions. Notice how the 1st and last senetnce of every para is framed using the task instructions - ie each point is presented using the language of task instructions. And I'd say Practice practice practice! at first untimed but then timed. also, for the issue task, try to go through all the prompts before test day, orally trying to figure out at least one point/example you can make for that prompt, so that you are not seeing it for the 1st time on test day. and if you are not able to think up any point at all for some essay, then google n try to read up somehting on that subject or on anything you think you might potentially use as an example. Hi everyone I know this is an old thread but hope someone is still reading! I am trying to figure out the interfolio system myself. Could someone who has used it please help me in understanding how it works? 1. My recommender will write and upload the letter to their interfolio letter writer account 2. Decaf, how do I control when the letters are sent out? Do I have to create a paid account for that? That is the Dossier and Portfolio account? 3. If i have this Dossier account, does that mean I have to send the entire university application using Interfolio? 4. Or can i send the majority of my application using the individual university application system and send out just the letters using interfolio? Thank you to anyone who can answer!
