[2014 SLP Admissions Thread]

I applied to NIU and I wasn't impressed with them at all! They screwed up my application and I couldn't get confirmation from them that it was received until 3 weeks after the application date. They were also rude during my interview and I haven't heard anything from them since. Which is OK because I don't want to go there anyway after my experience. Maybe it was just the Au.D. department...

I definitely had a different experience with the CommDis department. They were very friendly and accommodating when I visited. The facility was amazing as well.

[2014 SLP Admissions Thread]

I was recently accepted to Saint Louis University off of the waiting list! Super excited.

 

I'm having trouble deciding between SLU and Northern Illinois University. 

 

Does anyone have any further information or input about either of these schools? Both seem like good matches for the clinical work and research I am interested in.

The results search shows that a few people have already been accepted into Saint Louis University's masters program.

 

I send my application in about a month ago but the deadline was February 1st.

 

Does anyone know how they found out in less than a week? I was under the impression that applications were not in review until after the deadline.

Does anyone know what our chances are now that we are through to the next "round" of the admission process?

[University of IL starting semester]

I believe the curriculum began in the summer in the past but I recently spoke to one of my friends in the graduate program at UIUC and she said they changed it to Fall last year.

Does anyone have any further information or opinions on the SLP graduate program at the University of the Pacific in California?

 

I am considering applying to the 15-month graduate program as an out of state applicant.

Quick question --

 

I am applying to SDSU and would like to send in my CSUMentor application tonight but I am unsure whether to leave the "Household Income" section blank. It states the criteria to be an independent but since I am not an independent, do I still fill out that portion of the application (with my parents' information) or leave it blank?

Sorry if this seems like a dumb question. I haven't gotten any solid answers from the admissions office or technical support.
