I am currently a Master student in actuarial science in Cananda (not UT, you know what I mean). I like it and the program suits me well, but I hope I can have a career in the US in the recent future. I am a little confused about what to do, and several options have come to my mind:
1. Apply for a school in the US which starts next year when I graduate. It appears to me that it's easier to find a job with an American degree. The problem is that I do not know what kind of program should I seek. I like my current major, and would love to be an actuary. It must be kind of weird to apply for another graduate program close to actsc. And it's a bit late now to start preparing.
2. Apply a year later. I can choose the thesis option for my current program and it will last another term. Then there will be more time, and more research experience for application.
3. Try to find a job in US when I graduate. I do not know what American companies think of students from my university.
4. Find a job first in Canada and hop later. I am not sure whether this is good for my career, or it's feasibility.
Don't know whether this question should be posted here. I would appreciate any comment from you. Thanks.
