Hey all,
I'm in the process of doing some research on potential M.A. and M.T.S. programs (with an eye towards a Ph.D.) and I'd love some advice about programs.
I'm looking for some prestigious, rigorous programs in theology, but I'm more interested in drawing out the theological implications of biblical texts than I am in "doing" systematic theology. Can you think of any schools that might favor that kind of work? (I've heard that Duke is a good place to blend biblical studies with theology, and Harvard has a couple of good biblical scholars that teach in the divinity school.) I'm also interested in theology programs that include a heavy dose of philosophy. University of Chicago and Vanderbilt caught my eye in that regard.
Thoughts?
