  1. Looking for some advice, as I'm trying to decide between two programs, GWU's MPA and NYU Wagner's MUP. I have a strong interest in policy and development work, both domestic and international but am looking for a career that will put me in position to work in the field rather then strictly behind a desk. I'm trying to figure out which program would give me the most options. I chose the MUP at Wagner as there MPA seemed primarily administratively focused, and careers of their MUP students were more in line with my interests. To my understanding GWU's MPA allows for study in their MPP fields as well including Urban Policy and Social Policy which I'm excited about. Any advice from anyone who have attended these programs is greatly appreciated. Undergrad: NYU Major in Interdisciplinary Studies with a Concentration In Community Development Work Experience: 8 years directing a development office for a national NGO Volunteer Experience: CBO's in low income communities domestically as well as in Kenya
  2. Rejected. Good luck to everyone who got in
  3. I applied for the MPA at WWS. Also at GWU and an MUP at NYU Wagner. Got admits on both--no word on funding though:(
  4. Keeping my fingers crossed--but don't doubt yourself--I think we all bring different things to the table and admissions looks at everyone individually. Otherwise, they could simply state minimum 750Q score 3.8 GPA etc... You apply anywhere else?
  5. BA in Interdisciplinary Studies from NYU with a concentration in Community Development 3.63 GPA Lack fluency in multiple languages Lack quant work in college GRE: 620Q, 590V 8 years Director of Development for a national NGO Many internships with NGO's, just completed 4 months volunteer assignment in Kenya. Keeping my fingers crossed
  6. I contacted WWS as well and was told that while they had only sent out "some" of the accepted emails--and that the rest should hopefully be sent by tomorrow evening.
  7. Hi, I'm new to the forum and would greatly appreciate any advice... I am considering returning to school to pursue a Masters after working for seven years in the nonprofit field. My interests are somewhat broad...public policy (Mainly domestic) and comparative economic development (primarily Latin America). I was researching options and came across a few interdisciplinary programs, such as NYU's Gallatin. Does anyone know the quality of these programs and how an interdisciplinary degree would appear on a resume. If anyone has any suggestions on a more formally structured degree program that might fit my interests, I would definitely appreciate the advice. My interest is in pursuing a policy or development position with an international NGO. Thanks again for any advice Yisrael
