I am a student pursuing a Masters in Mechanical Engineering in Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, India. I have developed an interest in Statistics and thinking of pursuing a doctorate in Statistics in one of the good schools offering the same (particularly thinking of applying to US for obvious reasons). Since it is difficult for me to get into a Statistics program right away from here due to lack of background and relevant research in the field of interest, i am thinking to pursue Master in Statistics before i apply to a doctorate program. Indian Statistical Institute has good program in Statistics for a masters(as per my information). Please suggest.
