Just had my GRE exam. I am not a native student. When I was using pp2 for study, I usually get V143~145 and Q 170.
I really do not want to retake but if I study the verbal over the winter I probably would be able to get ~V150.
My first question does anyone know if they will ignore applications with low Verbal like this. I do not see they list any lowest requirement on GRE but I think they may set a cut-off.
My second question is would anyone help me evaluate my chance of getting addmited with that 141+169 GRE.
I am applying three programs in Upenn. Chemical Engineering MS, Nano MS, statistics MS in GSE, no financial aid needed. Also applying for other schools but really want to get into Upenn since my fiancee currently studying in their EE department.
My undergraduate is Chemical Engineering in University of Delaware, with minor in Chemistry, Math, Econ, Statistics.
Overall GPA 3.42~3.45 depends on this semester's grades. My GPA is screwed by a F for Thermal in my sophomore year due to missed final.. Retook it the following year get A. But the F is on my transcript.
Research experience: 3 years in two labs, but no paper published
Intership: worked in a european chemical engineering firm in Beijing for two summers, can get solid recomandation from my boss. I contributed to a development of a project and got my name on the patent, which is still pending for approval.
Please help me make a decision weather I need to retake GRE or not.. I really want to focus on preparing application materials other than memorizing vocabs in the winter. Also I'd really appreciate if you have any advise on how can I get better chance of getting into upenn.
