Hey! Here is something I posted a few days ago:
"Hey! So here's an information for international students like me who are really scared because they haven't received any interview invitations yet. So I called a couple of universities and they said that there is an order in which they send invitations. First Americans, second International students who live in the US or close enough (Canada, Mexico...) and then the other international students. There could be a difference of 1-2 weeks between them. So no panicking (yet...)"
One of the universities I called is Yale, so you shouldn't worry now. I'm not applying to the same program as you but for my program the international results are after the Christmas break.
Fair warning: don't put too much hope in one university. As international students, our chances are tiny and there's a serious random factor in it. For example, you might be ranked 4th in their program but if they invite only 3 students, then you're out of the game. However, in another university they might rank you 2nd and then you're in.
Thanks!!!
And exactly! For that very reason, I have applied for around 20 programs, but I am still feeling very nervous now (

Oh no! Someone on the result page got Yale' s Computational Biology and Bioinformatics (CBB) (. I hope they have not yet sent out all invitations
P/S May I know who else here are international students? Do they usually release the inivitation a bit late for international students?

I received yesterday and invite by email from SysBio-Harvard.
Anyone knows about Chicago U-Genetics, Genomics and SysBio or from ColumbiaU-Integrated Program on Cellular, molecular and biomedical studies?
I believe Harvard BBS only sends out one batch of interview invitations. There may be a few stragglers, but that number is a very small percentage compared to those sent yesterday. To those who were not, commiserations. I am sure you will get into other brilliant graduate programs and wish you the best in your graduate career. To those who were invited, congratulations! I look forward to meeting some of you when you interview in February.
I am freaking out! How about Harvard SysBio? Do they release the results at once? ((((
I wonder does anyone hear from Yale's CCB, Michigan's CCMB , UCLA's Bioinformatics, and Berkeley's Computational Biology?

Well I have another disadvantage: I am majoring in EECS, not any bio fields, and applying to some computational biology and bioinformatics programs. I feel like I'm an odd duck here (
