Thanks all. Oxford and Edinburgh sound amazing....but I'm worried I won't get in. My stats are horrible: Undergrad 13 years ago with 2.4 GPA Took 2 Fletcher classes in 2009 and got A- in both (planning to take 2 Harvard classes this summer) I have no work or volunteer experience in environmental policy field I'm 35

What are the best Environmental Policy masters programs in Europe? I want a program that is well-known in the US (i.e. I can get a job back in the US)

So I should not apply to ANY decent school in Europe? Just because they can't see past a poor GPA 13 years ago?? I'm planning on taking 2 IR classes at Harvard this summer to boost my app. Will this be a waste of time/money?

Thanks! But are IHEID, Sciences Po and Edinburgh realistic for me since: - My undergrad gpa is 2.5 (but that was 13 years ago and later got 3.7 in two summer Fletcher clases) - I have no IR work experience (but 10+ years work experience in other industries) FYI, I applied to Sciences Po this Jan and got rejected in the first round. My application was "non-admissible".

So I want to do a masters in IR in Europe because: 1. I want to live in Europe and this seems to be the only way to do it 2. I love IR, was IR minor in college (13 years ago!) and also took 2 summer classes at Fletcher which I loved! About me: 35 years old, got BA degree from top 20 liberal arts college back in 2000, been working since then (5 different industries, all administrative or project management positions, No IR work experience). Questions to you: How would you rank these schools IR programs in terms of: 1. Reputation (can I get a job in US?) 2. Competitiveness (realistic for me - my college GPA is a horrendous 2.5 but got 3.7 in my two Fletcher classes) Sciences Po (Paris) American Graduate School (Paris) IHEID (Geneva) University of Edinburgh University of Amsterdam VU University Amsterdam Thank you!

I submitted my application on Jan 20 but was still waiting for references. All my references are in today, Jan 29. Hope to get the "admissible" email soon! I applied to the masters in environmental policy. I also applied for Emile Boutmy scholarship. If I don't get it, I just plan to get student loans (Ha! living the American dream!)

Wow.....I'm surprised I didn't get rejected outright in the company of such amazing applicants! I definitely need to retake the GRE and apply again next year.

Early Notification decisions for Fletcher Fall 2010 are out! I got my decision, not admitted in this round but deferred to regular round (i.e. they'll review my app again in the regular round). At least I didn't get rejected!
-
No, I haven't heard anything yet although I keep on checking that link every day.
-
Didn't they send you a link where you can go to get your decision? This is what I got along with a login and password: https://grad.admissions.tufts.edu/APP/login.aspx

Did you get in? If you did, would you mind sharing your stats? I also applied for early notification but got no email from them saying my decision is ready. I have very very low hopes of getting in

I wonder if its even worth applying to Kennedy (HKS/KSG). My stats seem abysmal compared to everyone else applying there. Should I waste the $100 app fee? GPA: 2.57 (Econ major, IR minor) School: Top 20 liberal arts college Graduated: 9 years ago GRE: V 690, M 630, 5 essay Summer school at Fletcher: A- in both classes Good recs: 2 from the Fletcher profs from summer school Work experience: Corporate management (8+ yrs) Volunteer: Human rights NGO and university for underprivileged women (2-3 yrs) Essay: Focused on climate change and my personal interest in this area Also, I'm from South Asia and know all the South Asian languages.

Got the official GRE scores. Verbal: 690 (96+ percentile) Math: 630 (52+ percentile) Hopefully that'll increase my chances!

GPA: 2.75 (graduated from top 20 school 9+ years ago) GRE prediction: V 600+, M 500+ (taking GRE tomorrow) Upsides: A- grades at 2 summer classes I took at Fletcher Recs should be good, will get 2 of them from the Fletcher profs who taught the summer classes Semi-intl applicant, born/brought up in South Asia, know South Asian languages Worked in corporate world (management/operations) but did volunteer work with a human rights group (6 years) and an intl university for the underprivileged (3 months) Any shot at Fletcher?
