  1. Nothing new , He just said that they have reviewed all the applications. within a week or so we 'll know if we are in or  not

He has the same thing to say since past few weeks. Why not to accept that 1st round of admissions is out? I really wish to hear from them soon. If you come to know anything else, please share with us. :) :)

  2. I have just received a message from Doug asking me to be patient that they will let us know about our status in a week or

I too had a chat with him monday morning. He gave me the same reply.

Are you international applicant? Do you have any other offers or options?

  3. I got my offer March 28... so I think if you haven't heard back you are out of luck!

Even I feel the same. But the grad coordinator says we have not made decisions. Decisions will be sent by coming 2-3 weeks. He even refuse to accept they have sent 1st round of acceptance.

Can you please share your GPA, experiences and profile.

  4. Hey guys,

Did any body got a news from U of Victoria?

I am really getting impatient now. Thats my last hope. Please tell me if there are any recent decisions sent for Uvic MPH.

If its already this late, should I expect any good news at all? I called them a lot many times, but no proper reply

  5. hey friends,

I have to share a good news. I am selected by my second most desired program- Masters of health administration in Dalhousie university. My first choice was UBC's MHA program but couldnt get in.

I will request you guys to give me a feed back about Dalhousie as university and Halifax as a place to live, as I am an international student (from India). Is it too cool to survive or job opportunities?

I would also like to ask how should I contact faculty members to be considered for Funding or scholarship, as I do not have any word from their side (grad coorinator says wait till you hear from us). The differential fee for international students is too high to be affordable, but this program is my only option, so I wanna join any way.

Any piece of advice will be very valuable. thankyou

  6. Just to provide an update:  I received my official (via post) offer to the University of Toronto's MPH in Community Nutrition today, just about 1 month after receiving the email offer (which was on March 6th).  Hopefully those of you waiting for the other specializations at UofT will hear back soon!

Does that mean I should not expect any good news, if they say decision is already sent to me by Mail, and I have not received any email, call or interview notification so far. I also called them but grad coordinator said- it can be notified by mail only.

I am an international student and it will take a long time for their mail to reach me. Should I count on it at all?

  7. Which stream did you apply for?

Sorry, I have applied to MHSc- Health administration. I see that i am only applicant for this one in this group.... Its in IHPME, UofT

I am not expecting such grand news for me.Ever since rejected from SFU, I do not believe I might occupy a position in UT. still fingers crossed

  8. Trust me. "Under review" is actually less scary than seeing "Decision made" and not knowing exactly what that decision is.

I applied to two other programs at U of T and both of them got back to me by mail, so I had to wait for a while to find out whether I had been accepted after seeing "Decision made" pop up on my SGS page.

"A letter of your admission decision was mailed out yesterday."

this is what UT  answered me right now. What now? I am an international student and a mail will take life-time to reach me.  :o

  9. Please tell me if any one in this group applied for UBC- Master in Health administration, U of Torontos- MHSc in Health Administration or UofDalhousie's MHA program? Looking forward for any piece of news desperately. I have heard applications are still in review and no offers are sent do far. Any one can help with their friends or contacts to extract possible info?

Also how competitive these programs are compared to MPH stream? My GPA is 3.88/4 and 3.5 years of work exp as hospital administration and 2year volunteer work at Cancer institute. . What else could  help me?

  10. Please tell me if any one in this group applied for UBC- Master in Health administration, U of Torontos- MHSc in Health Administration or UofDalhousie's MHA program? 11. Hello everyone, I'd like to contribute my experience so far. I've applied to Masters programs in Occupational and Environmental Health for UBC, UofT, and McGill. I don't care too much about McGill due to the lack of co-op, and haven't heard back yet. I got accepted to UBC mid February, and had an interview with UofT 2 weeks ago. My stats include ~3.9 GPA last 2 years and a couple undergrad research projects.

Does anyone know how OGS works, like when you get notified? It would cover tuition for first year at UofT, whereas at UBC I only got offered $2000... As well as any extra resources for graduate scholarships.

that's great bud. can you please share your profile with us?

  12. My Stats:

    Undergraduate GPA: 3.6/4.0

Undergraduate Majors: 1. Psychology 2. Public Health

Relevant Experience: 2 years working as a Clinical Research Assistant on HIV/STI prevention studies for high-risk urban girls and juvenile justice youth

No papers; 3 posters; two awards for my research accomplishments

I am an international student (highest degree from the U.S)

    Thats great! Congratulations bro!

  13. Hello to all....

Just wanna share a piece of information with you guys.

I had a word with U of A's prog coordinator (for Health policy and management) and she said early offers will be sent by end of March[while last year forum show students not getting any response till 15th May].

Grad admin from UBC's MHA program said we should expect replies by early April.

I still haven't found anyone applying for UBC's MHA program or UofT's MHSC- IHPME prog. No concerned forum or blog. Do anybody have friends or known awaiting reply for these programs?  Can you guys help me with any Forum for Canada;s MHA applicants fall 2014 as well?

    Thanks in advance.

  14. Hey there,

My CGPA is about 3.87/4.33 ... last two years GPA was about 3.92/4.33

I've worked in public health on and off for about 2.5 years, and have some research experience with stats.

    Hope it helps =)

congratulations dear....wish you best of luck for further process and career.

  15. I have a research and clinical education background with work experience in epidemiology research and hospital QI.  Also co-authored some published papers and did some relevant volunteer work.  I wouldn't say my GPA is spectacular but I think my other experiences make up for what I lack.

Now thats who they need, I guess......... Thanks

  16. Hi Everyone,

I've been lurking this forum for a few weeks now and finally have some good news to post!  I've received an unofficial acceptance email from Lakehead for their Distance MPH program this morning!  My application was completed the day before the deadline so it looks like their Admission Committee is pretty speedy.  Hopefully this will give other Lakehead applicants some idea on how fast they work since they don't have a set date on when decisions are made.

    Good luck everyone!  :)

congratulations! please share your profile and background dear.

  17. I've applied to UofT's MPH in Community Nutrition.  I have a phone interview for next week!

Very excited, as this is my top choice.  I wish I knew how many they were interviewing, and how many spots were available for the community nutrition program.

I haven't calculated my GPA, but my average for my last two years is 95%.

Congratulations runnergrad, wish you all the best for interview.

Can you share your detailed profile and background, so that everyone come to know about UofT's requirements. Also please do share your interview experience with us. God bless you

  18. Any body applied to U of Dalhousie's any program?

My application says "Decision Made-written notification to follow" since last 10 days. I have seen other forums of Eng and biology students who got congratulations or regret email right on the same day or within 2-3 days. I haven't received any response yet. Even they dont reply to my email..

Any one else on the same boat?

Any results or reply received so far by you guys?

  19. hey friends,

I have applied for UBC's MHA program- fall 2014. I am facing 3 doubts and need your valuable opinion/answers.

    1. FAQs says  minimum GRE score accepted are- V 154, Q 149, while my GRE score is V- 151, Q- 163. Do you guys think verbal component will be compensated with quant?

    2. My application status is still showing incomplete and almost half the documents are displayed missing. I emailed and also called the grad office and they said no information can be given right now and all.... Its been 14 days post deadlines. is that the case with someone else too??

    3.  most of the programs ask for statistics subject requirement. I never had statistics in my curriculum and few seniors told me we can study Stats as extra subject in grad studies as well. Will this weaken my application in compare to candidates who had stats in their undergrad curriculum?

    no reply??????  :(  :(  :(  :(  :(
