  1. I'm still waiting to hear from UCincinnati...waiting for the putative axe to fall is making doing work difficult, since it seems likely we'll all hear at some point today. When did they contact you?
  2. Are either of the two people who posted Notre Dame rejections on this board? If so, did you interview and then get rejected, or just hear a rejection?
  3. Just got an email from Notre Dame. Skype interview next week.
  4. Speaking of Notre Dame, has anyone heard anything from them? I see on the results board that they have informed around this time in previous years. Having already heard from two of my programs, I find that I'm even more anxious to hear from the rest!
  5. Janeiro- Yes, definitely. March 20th seems sort of late, and I'm sure I'll go a little crazy waiting. Very excited, though.
  6. I applied to the Classical Studies Ph.D.
  7. I did. He called me to invite me to their visit weekend in March. He didn't mention anything about an interview beforehand, just that they'd like me to come.
  8. Hmm! The professor who contacted me from Cincinnati wasn't one that I'd necessarily imagined working with, although his work is fascinating. I'm interested in ancient medicine and the history of science; my honors thesis focused on the reception of a 2nd century medical text in the Renaissance. I'm also involved in paleoethnobotany, and have had some experience on plant digs. I wasn't told about any specific professors, but just asked if I'd like to attend (which I will- I'm pretty near). During the phone call, he told me he was very excited about my application and that I was on the shortlist. He also discussed my potential salary. That's probably what we all heard, though?
  9. Hi, all. New poster here. Chimed in to say that I received a call from U. Cincinnati yesterday offering to fly me out for their prospective graduate student weekend in late February. The professor who called me specifically said it wasn't an interview, but more of a visit to see if everything meshed well. It's a 3 day visit...does anyone know what I can expect from them at this non-interview? Also, did anyone receive a notification for a more formal interview? Thanks!
