  1. Didn't apply Harvard or BU. No word from JHU yet!
  2. No, that's really weird. You should probably call them about that...
  3. ... ~30 minutes to 5pm and still no email.
  4. Does anyone know when we hear from JHU? Accordingly to last year it should be this week....I think!
  5. Regarding UPenn - do you know if people in the past have successfully interviewed on an alternate weekend and been accepted? It seems like it would be difficult to get the full panel of faculty and students to do interviews on a non-interview specified weekend
  6. Hey dude, no worries. They might do waves of invitations! Ditto to what others have said. It's not guaranteed. Like the HST program (this might be an extreme amount) takes like half their interviewees (ish). Definitely still take the interviews seriously. It does mean you're in the top of the bunch, but they still have some weeding out to do. Thanks!
  7. Just got an interview invite for Penn a few minutes ago! They had two weekends 2/20-22 ... during stanford. And 2/27-3/1 is HST. Not sure what to do anymore. I haven't heard anything from JHU yet. Does anyone have any insight to offer regarding what to do about conflicting interviews?? I already RSVP'd and booked flights for both Stanford and HST... I don't know if its appropriate to ask to go for a different weekend or to do phone/Skype instead?
  8. I'm not quite sure what they're doing. I got mine on January 10th (if I am remembering correctly) and I've been seeing posts from January 2x's online as well. It wouldn't hurt to call the admissions office/department to ask -- they're really nice!
  9. Hi hopeful engineer, I think they sent some out on the 17th. If you go to the top of the page, you can click the results search tab and the enter "michigan biomedical engineering" into the query and see the results for the F14 cycle so far. They could send out more in the future - maybe someone else here has more insight on how they do things at michigan?
  10. Haha yes! That sounds like a fantastic idea. I think all of us will be destined for great things and cross paths many times in the future
  11. I agree with you. It's a growing field of knowledge for all the diseases and areas that you mentioned. I think that's ultimately what makes biomedical sciences and biomedical engineeing both very exciting fields to be in. I also think that a lot of BME labs do biomedical science stuff on the side. Like, I work in a tissue engineering lab and my current project is more biomedical science--y than engineer-y. I find all of it really cool , but opted for BME programs only (probably because I didn't know much aboutv biomedical science programs haha).
  12. Aww sorry to hear that! You're probably not upset because you know deep down that you'll get other offers that you will love! Btw just wondering, how did you know that there was a "high number of competitive applicants this year"? (As you noted in your signature). Do you call all the grad offices or something?
  13. Haha well I mean I had a feeling that I was going to get like 2 interviews and have an easy day choosing between programs... this is unexpected and kind of cool. I'm really excited to visit everywhere and to figure out where is best for me. I'm also excited to meet all the people I'll be working with the future and all the current big wigs! Can't waittt. There should be classes on campus called "preparing for your grad school interview". Because I don't know what I'm doing...
  14. Nope I haven't heard anything official from UPenn yet, sorry And thanks!!
  15. AHHHH Harvard-MIT HST MEMP Interview!!!!
  16. Yay!! Get ready for these next two weeks! How many more are you waiting on? I have 3 (Harvard-MIT HST, UPenn, and JHU)
  17. Thanks !!! Congrats on Hopkins, that is amazing! I'm still waiting to hear back from them about the BME program as well.
  18. Thanks I love Seattle (BMES was there last year), I am so excited to go again!
  19. Got an invitation for an interview from UW!!
  20. Quite possibly! My POI from Georgia Tech appears to have taken a peak at my profile around the end of December and I got my acceptance in early January. Good luck -- that's awesome!! Hope you get it!
  21. Definitely a good thing if they bothered to pull out their computer and look you up!
  22. Haha stalking the stalkers... I am so tempted to upgrade my linkedin account so I can figure out who exactly looked, but I'm too cheap to do it. I am still so incredibly anxious about hearing back from places, especially since there was that influx of MIT and UCB/SF rejections today
  23. Yup. I'm guessing they're from review committees? I identified one of them through those "I'll show you 6 possible people that looked" because they were within my network by like 2 or 3 degrees of separation I think. It was one of my POIs.
  24. I have no idea if they are involved or not at UCB specifically, but at all the schools I have heard from so far as well at my home institution, it seems that the faculty in your specified field of interest will get the opportunity to review applications at some point. ..... I'm getting so nervous to hear back from the rest of my schools! I've been creeping on the archived results stuff from years past as well and have concluded that I am going to have a very nervous two weeks of fumbling for my phone anytime I hear an email notification noise/vibration. Best of luck to everyone else that is waiting to hear back from schools as well!!
  25. Good luck! Have fun with your Skype interview, that sounds exciting. Is anyone anxious about being gone too often this semester for visits, I put together my calendar and am starting to think I'm going to be MIA a lot in March...
