  1. If there is a Colombia ETA facebook group, please post the link or name. Thank you! Congrats to those who have been accepted. Hang on if you're still waiting. Good luck!
  2. I was selected to be an ETA in Colombia. Congrats to those of you who were selected!! To those who were not...remember to keep the goal just change the plan. I am so proud of all of you for getting this far.
  3. Thanks so much for sharing!!
  4. Hi Bruin, I'm waiting for Colombia as well, I was recommended for an ETA position. Someone emailed Monday and received the same response. A few other Colombia applicants are connected to the forum as well. It's been a long wait. I'm excited for it to be over. Muy buenas suerte!!!!! Hang in there
  5. I hope my Fulbright Colombia (South America in general) people are holding up well. Maybe this week is our week; It's mid-April. Congrats to those who were accepted and good luck to the rest. For those who did not get the grant...change the plan, but keep the goal. You all are awesome. I am really thankful for this community.
  6. Thanks so much for writing the coordinator. This will definitely allow me to relax for a few weeks. Wow! I'm shocked, it hasn't been this late in the past 4 years. Thanks again and congrats to those who were accepted and to those who were selected to be alternates.
  7. You are right. Thank you! I needed to hear this.
  8. I didn't get an email with a survey. I'm officially freaking out now. Is this bad news?
  9. Welcome Brian! I applied for ETA Fulbright. There are a few others following who applied as well. I'm dying to find out too. I keep checking my email and this forum like every 5 secs. Make sure you put your info on the spreadsheet. I had an interview with Colombia Fulbright back in Feb. Suerte!
  10. Thanks raymondnorth. I'll try to do the same. I'm just going to prepare as best as I can. Thank you!
  11. No, Colombia, but this additional interview was added to the Colombia processes as well.
  12. Yes, they are in Spanish. I will take you up on that offer. It is the first year that this is implemented, so I don't know what to expect. Thanks so much!
  13. So not all candidates are interviewed? and it's an additional step before the final review? Ok, yea I'm freaking out.
  14. I have not heard of this before. I'm nervous too.
  15. I'm just confused because I thought ETAs didn't do interviews. My friend didn't last year for ETA Fulbright Colombia. Maybe it's because so many applied this year. Congrats Raymondnorth! Thanks for responding!
  16. Fulbright Colombia just contacted me asking for an Interview in Spanish via skype. Does anyone have advice? If you took it last year, what were some of the general questions? I might not even make it to Jan. 31st for the interview because my nerves are killing me. Thanks!
  17. Wouldn't it be nice if it were today LOL!
  18. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I can now stop checking the forum and my email, and go on with my day
  19. Thanks Raymondnorth for sending me the spreadsheet!! Your project sounds so interesting and I would be interested in reading your research. I hope you are accepted. La Ley 70 in Colombia requires the state to modify national school curriculum to reflect Afro-Colombian culture and history, and since it’s national, I could conduct the research/observe anywhere. I did not get geographically specific. Well…as you mentioned, we aren’t allowed to anyway. My friend was an ETA in Inbagué, Tolima. I’m just hoping to get in. If I am placed in Cali or the department of Chocó, that would be awesome since they have a large Afro-Colombian population. Thank you so much for your support and Birthday wish. Good luck to you! Hopefully more ETA-Colombia applicants join the forum. Suerte!
  20. I've been lurking for a while now and finally decided to join the conversation. I applied for an ETA grant in Colombia. I’m interested in researching Afro-Colombian culture and history, particularly the curriculum being taught in schools. Did anyone else apply to Colombia? I talked to a friend who was an ETA in Colombia. She said that the Fulbright committee sent her the survey email in December and she was recommended in Jan. It’s strange that they sent us the email so late. I hope this doesn't delay the whole process. Good luck to everyone! Thank you for helping me stay sane...well hmmm…it's just good to know that I'm not the only one going crazy. Tomorrow is my birthday and I only have one wish.
