I am a non-select for Sweden as well. Wow, this hurts even more than I thought it would. I feel like I just got hit by a bus. To top it off, I'm stuck at a conference with all my co-workers who knew nothing about this. This is going to be a tough one to hide.

Has anybody heard anything from the new Europe Program Manager yet? Walter?

When did that happen? I just emailed with her this past Friday.

I'm right there with you. Did you see my post from last week? Eileen O'Mallley said they are still waiting for state department approval, she hopes this week or next week. I'm curious why Sweden is taking so long compared to the other European countries...

Sweden folks...here is Eileen's response. Guess we are still in for a bit of a wait. I was very much hoping today would be the day! Unfortunately we are still awaiting FFSB approval but hopefully this will come through in the coming week or two. Sweden applicants....I just sucked it up and emailed Eileen again today. I'll let everyone know her response. My fiancé is a pilot for the marine corps and just recently got new orders. Whether or not I'm here all next year greatly influences housing choices and such. It would really be lovely to have an answer as we can't put off the move much longer.

Have any Sweden applicants contacted Eileen O'Malley lately? I did on March 28th, but its been quite awhile now. Are we the final European country to send out notifications now? We can't be... : (

I did on march 28th and got the same story about it being backed up in the state department. She is incredibly nice and friendly... Anyone willing to take one for the team and contact her again?

Hi cgerry14, I'm waiting for Sweden also. I called a week ago Friday and was told notifications were being held up in the state department. Not exactly new info as other country applicants have been told the same thing, but I thought I'd pass it along to you. I really hope we find out this week, I have some big decisions to make! I really hope you are selected, my father is ill with hep C and maybe he could benefit from your research someday. : )

I'm starting to crack under the pressure! My fiancé and I need to make some major life decisions (he's military and we just got new orders) and they all hinge on whether or not I'm awarded the Fulbright! These life decisions need to be made this week or next at the latest (cue freak out at the state department delay news). It would be super lovely if they let us know soon, I sure would sleep better!

ok...those of you who have contacted the program advisors...what have you been saying? I absolutely did not want to email anyone, but now I really need to. My husband is military and we've received some news today and we need to make some big decisions. If I am awarded the Fulbright, it would change the situation quite a bit. I don't know what to say in an email and I don't want to come off as inappropriate. Thanks in advance for any advice!
