Hy guys, nice to see so many people interested in studying at the Graduate Institute.
Personally, as I am very interested in studying International Law, I applied by the early deadline (15th november) to the IL Master Programme, and I was finally put on a waiting list (which is arguably worse than being refused, arguably)..
On the e-mail they sent me, it is written that "The Admission Committee of the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies has considered your application to be in line with our requirements of excellence. However, as the capacity of the Graduate Institute is limited, we cannot admit immediately all valuable candidates. Therefore, the Committee has decided to place your application on the waiting list".
This means that I will have to wait until April/early May to know whether I am admitted or not, which is very frustrating. At this point, if I correctly understood, everything will depend on whether someone who got admitted decides not to enrol at the Institute, at which moment places may become available..
Did anybody receive the same answer I received? If so, have you tried to contact the student office in order to have more info on your ranking on the waiting list?
Also, did any of the students who applied to the institute as a second choice, and got admitted, decide to enrol in another Graduate School?
Thanks for any comment you will want to make
