No luck . Last year applying so the only upside is I won't have to go through all the stress again. E/VG VG/VG G/G All the reviewers were very specific except for the last guy who decided that I applied in the wrong feild, which is funny becuase I applied with a continuation of my masters project in the same program. Because of this he basically didn't review me- I think he just gave my G/G because it seemed middle of the line enough.

The email has the decision. Last year I didn't get awarded, does anyone know if the email subject is different for winners? Mine last year just said your NSF GRFP results. I would love to just set a different ringtone for only a winning email haha so I can sleep though the sadness.

Yeah I get you, I was just hoping for something more concrete. Actually I just want the results now. Maybe they just enjoy our pain, I'll just stress eat some more cheesy broccoli and avoid finishing my poster with all you lovelies while we wait.

Looking to procrastinate. I've been having fun looking up my last name and others in my lab group in the award offers and honorable mentions list, you can search all years at once going back to 52'. Someone with my last name and the same initials won in 2006, obviously this is a sign from the gods. I have yet to find any celebrity names.

I'm sure everyone is not emailed at the exact same time but last year I received an email at 2:07 am central time (I just went and checked old emails I'm not that obsessive). I think the results we up maybe 5 or 10 minutes before that. On another note people in my department keep insisting that "I'll totally get the award because I got HM last year." Do you think reviewers look or even care about this? I think not, it seems unrelated to your current application.

I think the maintenance was for 12 - 8 am this morning, so it is already over.

These two - The comments can only help you if you actually receive helpful comments. Understanding the blood, sweat and tears that go into these applications, I understand where people get angry when they recieve entirely unhelpful comments or non at all.

VG/E VG/E VG/E HM By all means please rave over my application, tell me I show "impressive academic abilities" - also multiple reviewer write "strongly recommend to funding" and then give me a VG. My field almost doubled in award winners this year- such a slap in the face. I would have rather them given me useful feedback to make it better.
