  1. Leaning towards MIT philosophy and Yale Law. USC is an interesting option, given my interests in metaethics and the philosophy of language. Harvard Law would be geographically convenient if I chose MIT philosophy, but Harvard seems to produce mostly corporate lawyers, and that's obviously not my intended career path. I'll have to visit some programs before making my final decision.
  2. Congratulations, alethic! Monadology, I turned down an offer from UCLA the day before this offer was made. I'm guessing they'll make more offers as others submit their decisions.
  3. Can anyone claim the Michigan acceptance?
  4. Thanks! (and I really appreciate the parenthetical note about sarcasm)
  5. Just received a Cornell acceptance email from Ted Sider.
  6. I was accepted at UCLA and didn't get such an email, so I don't think anyone should despair just because she hasn't received one.
  7. Gabriel Uzquiano Thanks!
  8. I claimed it above. Accepted with a Provost's Fellowship.
  9. Accepted to USC by phone!
  10. I can't say much at this point without quickly giving away my identity, but I'm happy to say more at a later time. I do come from a top university with a top philosophy department, and some of my letters were from eminent philosophers. I had either taken a graduate seminar or done independent work with each of my recommenders. My writing sample is in my AOI, and my stats are in the signature below. If you have any specific questions, I'll let you know whether I'm comfortable answering them.
  11. I'll claim the second MIT post.
  12. I think the new post is real and the previous posts are fake. There have been fake postings in past years, and NYU has posted comments like this in the past to discredit them. If you look at the graduate admissions FAQ page on the NYU website, the department is clearly aware of this website and that there is a history of fake posts. The department writes, "There are websites where applicants say what schools they've heard decisions from. Sometimes there are phony reports of NYU decisions on these sites. I don't know why." It wouldn't surprise me if they check TGC.
  13. My goal is to do a joint JD-PhD, but my decision will depend upon admissions outcomes. Thanks to all for the congratulations!
  14. Thanks! I've been watching this forum from afar for a while, so it's nice finally to jump into the fray.
  15. I'll claim the second Stanford acceptance. Phone call from Tamar Schapiro. First philosophy acceptance for me!
