Hey guys, Quick question or well at least I want to make sure ... regardless lol I am currently finishing my undergrad and I know that tomorrow is the first day to register for courses. Therefore, those students who are interested in the program and are finishing up their undergrad have received Conditional Acceptances. However, I know someone in the meeting had asked about undergrads and when we could apply. The answer was given was that we could only apply in (approximately) June, after we have proved that we finished with a certain average and well.. that we graduated lol. Could you guys please confirm this to prove to myself that I wasn't hearing things. I will try and confirm tomorrow with the liaison just so my mind is at least in peace. Thank you!

A but of the difference: CSE - More so Applied Psychology. Yes, you are in classes but you focus more on the child and their development. There is opportunity for research if you chose to do your own. MT - More focus on being a Teacher. More focus on the curriculum and other aspects of Education. From my understanding, you can do your own research but it cannot count towards a thesis.

My SGS has not been updated and therefore, says "Under Review". And it has been posted on ROSI, an invitation for the program. The first day I noticed it was there was on Monday, March 17th 2014... well around there.

Hey, I have received the Official Letter of Admission on the 19th of March, they are dated to approximately the 14 of March and therefore have three weeks to respond (from the date posted on the letters). I will be accepting. Congratulations and goodluck everyone!

Hey, I have received Official Letters of Admissions to both the programs I had applied to. I received them on the 19th of March, they are dated to approximately the 14 of March and therefore have three weeks to respond (from the date posted on the letters). I will be rejecting both levels as I will be accepted another offer at OISE. Therefore, best of luck to anyone on the wait-list! Hope these two rejections makes someone else smile Congratulations and goodluck everyone!

Congrats!!! What age group were you accepted to?
-
Congrats that's amaaaaazing!!!! so you got the email on friday?

The questions asked at the interview were mostly straight forward. It seemed to me like they wanted to see if what you said matched what was on your resume. However, they did ask you more off topic questions like why you applied, where you saw yourself in X years. I really found it to be based on applied psychology. Like why do you think the child does this. Or what have you done/would do if X happened between the kids? and why do you think it happened?

Try and stay as positive as you can! I know that is really hard but it will help you stay sane. In reality, interview or not, we are all still not guaranteed anything, so essentially were all on the same boat Stay positive until you have the official results! Acceptance or not there are other possibilities such as being on the wait-list. I try and tell myself that people apply to more than one program therefore, spots may open up etc. since they may accept other offers or other schools. I will keep you guys posted as well with another other news I know about my status or of my friends that may help anyone out! Best of luck to everyone!

I applied to both. I guess now its just a waiting game

They had called me and left a msg with the name and number for the person who works for the MA liaison to call them back. Nothing else, so when I had called back is when she gave me further details on who she was and why she had called. So they do leave a msg but not a super detailed one saying what the call is for. I called right back, like 10-15 minutes after so I don't know if they would have tried calling more than once; sorry did you only apply to MA CSE or to both MA CSE and MT(masters of teaching)?

Just a quick question. Has anyone else received the residence email? (i got it yesterday - Feb 19) "Dear _______, Thank you for applying to the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education of the University of Toronto. If you are considering living in residence or student family housing, you should explore your residence options and complete our online residence application. Residence space is limited, and we encourage you to apply even before admission to U of T..."

From my understanding, they will contact everyone regardless if you had an interview or not. Thus, I as well as everyone will get notifications if we got rejected or accepted in April for sure. I am currently in undergrad and applied by the deadline which was posted online

Hey, A small update. My friend and I got the residence email and such earlier today. My friend hasn't gotten anything else besides this email. Therefore, no other response from the MT liaison or call/email etc. This is probably nothing significant and just a mass email but regardless makes everything much stressful!

Np Is acceptance conditional upon the interview as well? Are you accepted now that you have had the interview? All I was told was that I was "Shortlisted" which would mean that (From that point) I was "selected" from a larger pool of applicants (**to have an interview). But nothing was conditional acceptance into the program or that I got in 100% or anything else. This would then mean that I have not gotten any calls, emails or change in my application saying I was accepted. Everything has not changed at all since. So, I'm still waiting as well & anything good or bad can happen still I guess How did the interview go? Personally, the interview went well. They asked standard questions about yourself and your experiences. Nothing was like out of the blue or unexpected. I guess they just want to get to know you and what your goals are

Hey! I also had an interview on the same day as Danya. I received a call from the Program Liaison on the monday (3rd of feb) before the interview (which was on a saturday - the 9th). In regards to knowing if they interviewed all the candidates I have no idea sorry But from the looks of the past threads, people received interviews as last as the 24th of feb etc. In regards to rejection, I think they won't notify you of such a case until April when all the letters go out (again also by the looks of past threads). I would probably keep as calm as possible (which seems so impossible!!) because there's half of feb. left!!

Hey cg08. I got an e-mail on the 7th of Feb asking me to book an interview and I did so. Then they confirmed it and now I have to go in tomorrow super nervous! I applied to p/j and j/i . So i might be thinking that perhaps they want to interview all the people who want to work with the smaller kids in person? And perhaps the individuals who want to work with older kids may be via some other mean? I just really hope its something like that so theres still a chance! I read on the website the interviews (if anything) are mid feb & the only day I know for sure people have interviews are tomorrow and haven't heard of any other days :S

Hey! So I just applied to the MT (P/J & J/I) and have been contacted for an interview. My friend however, applied to MT I/S and J/I levels and has yet to be contacted. My interview for the MT program will be on the 19th and apparently most of the people who look forward to working with the younger age group have an interview on this day also. Does this mean that perhaps the I/S (or higher age groups) have interviews at later times? Or do they even have interviews at all? I know its early still but I just want to know if my friend has hope Thank you in advance!
