Got phone interview from Michigan biostatistics over a month ago (applied for phd program), but hadn't heard back. So I emailed them to ask a few days ago and got their reply as follows: Your application is still under consideration. Your application has NOT been rejected. We have made our first round of offers, but have not finished for the season. So is it an informal waitlist? Still think my chance is low though

Got Purdue stat PhD offer yesterday. I am asked to make decision by Mar. 19, so pretty sure that there will be another round offers. No words on visit events though.

Thanks! It seems really competitive this year! I thought these two programs were in my reach. Well, perhaps I were too optimistic.

Anybody know if Penn State and Purdue have sent off all acceptances (pure stat phd)? Haven't heard anything from them yet, guess I'm rejected

Just got accepted as well. Are you also on the 'waiting list for a fellowship'? I am wondering if I should contact their faculty members to see if there are possible RA-ships.
