Chicago was by snail mail. Deceptive looking large envelope, luckily I was expecting the MAPH and not an acceptance, thanks to gradcafe
I just wish NYU would go ahead and just reject me already so I don't have to think about them anymore. Good luck to all in the last week or so of waiting.

well same happened to me - chicago MAPH. anyone still waiting on NYU? i've heard back from all my schools except them. also, anyone here going to ucla? it's my only acceptance.

I also haven't heard from Chicago yet. When did everyone else submit their applications for Chicago? I submitted pretty late, like a week before the deadline. I don't know if that could be a factor. If not for acceptances, maybe it takes them longer to waitlist or reject you if you submit late?

So based on the comments in this thread, I can pretty much assume that no replies from schools that have sent acceptances out means rejection? (yale, chicago, michigan, berkeley, WUSTL, NYU, brown) Why don't they just reject us at the same time they accept people so its less agonizing waiting for that rejection letter?

well, I know that UK (oxbridge an others) masters (MPhils) have late deadlines. depending on if you have any connections to your undergraduate institution, you might also be able to apply to fellowships. doing a mphil in the UK would only make you a stronger PhD candidate in the future; getting a fellowship would be even better? just a thought. i applied to mphils as back-up.
