I don't believe there is an actual language requirement, hence the language/orientation course. It may be helpful or even beneficial to know some German, but the point of the courses is to get one to basic conversational German.

FingersCrossed, we're still trying to put the pieces back together here in New Orleans; I can't imagine what it's like in Brazil! At least, Mardi was a solid two-week distraction!

I looked up Germany's acceptances from last year... April 2. Settle in, macht euch bequem!

In the "recommended" e-mail, they say that they cannot confirm receipt until/after tomorrow (Feb. 21). They will also let you know if they did not receive it... If the latter is the case, it shouldn't count against anyone's application.
