  1. The reason I didn't mention my GPA is because the schooling system I come from does not grade students in GPA. As most universities mention that if one is an international applicant, it is not necessary to convert the score, I left it out. But I guess it would help you guys get a clear picture. Approx, it would be 3.5. Regarding research or relevant field experience, I do not have any. After graduation, I worked in online media and corporate communications for three years apart from teaching and freelancing.
  2. Hello! I'm applying for the next fall and considering my sad scores and a long time away from academics, I wanted to see what you guys think of my chances. GRE: 670v, 610q, 5.5aw Graduated in '05 with a communication major. My list: UCB UC San Diego UC Santa Cruz Northwestern UI Urbana Champaign Indiana Bloomington Umass 1. Where do you think I have a chance of getting in? I know it's not just scores and that SOP, sample and LORs matter. Still, I ask to get a general feel of the cut-offs. I've been told that since most of these universities get tons of applications, they do filter first based on GRE. 2. Are there any other universities which can be pegged as mid level in this field? I'm not very conversant with the US universities and need your help. I've combed through a lot of sites to see what programs suit my interests, but I'm clueless when it comes to how the universities are ranked. 3. Anyone applying to the same universities or any other advice you may have for me. Thanks!
