  2. I also got rejected for Germany for a study grant. But you know what - 10,000 applicants applied for Fulbright, only a few then get to the finals round. It's tough for the committee to make these decisions and I figure all of us were deserving of pursuing our projects. I'm so thankful to have been through the whole process and I know I'm still going to make a positive impact on the world in my future, with or without a Fulbright in hand. I'd like to share this link - hope it makes some of you feel better: http://www.businessinsider.com/successful-people-who-failed-at-first-2014-3?op=1 Congratulations to all those who have gotten grants, seriously, all the best!! Well deserved. And if anyone who didn't get a grant is planning on being in the Boston area next year (I can now finally accept that research fellowship at Mass General!), PM me!
  3. I found out I was a finalist around 5:45 pm EST though ... maybe they'll release until 6 pm?
  4. I JUST WANT TO KNOW
  5. My friend just got a study grant to Mexico but he's turning it down - so there's hope for alternates for Mexico!
  6. wir können uns nur die Daumen drücken (fingers crossed!)
  7. Austria is basically the same thing as Germany ... they have to tell us today right!?!
  8. OMG you think Germany will release notifications today!?!!
  9. I emailed Cara Doble, the Program Manager for Germany, about Germany notification dates, and she said that they were experiencing delays and that it's a "waiting game" at this point
  10. How do you know!? Now I'm all jittery because Spain found out today.....!! eeeeek
  11. She didn't say, so I didn't ask!
  12. Hahah. Well exactly why I posted Cara's email reply to me- unfortunately they're delayed this year, so we can't really count on past notification dates
  13. How do you know we could expect it this week?
  14. So i've been looking through all the anxious posters by the German people, and I just wanted to share the email I got from Cara Doble, the senior Fulbright program officer for Germany. I wanted to see if she could give me a sense of the timeline of the notification process, because I have been officially offered another fellowship but need to let the other people know soon. She said: "Unfortunately, I am not able to predict when final decisions will be released for Germany. For all of the reasons you mention below as well as added issues, we are delayed this year compared to last. This is why we cannot determine an exact notification date from year to year. At this point, it is much of a waiting game." So Germany just happens to be delayed this year. what's helped me is getting excited about all the billion other things I can do next year that WOULDN'T be the Fulbright. We should probably all be outside and enjoying the longer spring days than obsessively checking our emails at least I've been trying to convince myself to do that... I'm the first to admit it's easier said than done
  15. Hahahahah same happened to me. But we've made it this far! I highly doubt one typo would really be a deciding factor at this stage of the game. I would hope that the content and ideas of our proposals would have far more weight in the decision making process
  16. Oh cool! Is there a link to the google doc? I'd be doing a one year MS at Charité-Universität studying International Health. I still am shocked that I am even recommended... it's crazy! I just wish they would tell us soon so I can sort out my other plans after I graduate
  17. Hi!! I just decided to join this forum. I am recommended for a study grant to Berlin next year. Anyone else trying to study/research in Germany? Crossing my fingers for everyone - and I feel lucky just to be a finalist
