I got a Phd offer yesterday, and got a email from a potential PI, saying they are working on the area I'm interested in and look forwad to meeting me in the campus weekend. It doesn't seem like a general email sent to everyone. He is one of my favorite professors and right now I'm a little freak out to reply to him, how to be polite? with good manners? Do I need to mention my special interests in his project in email? I will cerntainly go to the campus weekend. Also, what should I do until the visit weekend, any suggestions? Should I read the PI's publicaitons? he had more than 200 publications and I'm afarid I couldn't finish them. Please someone, give me some advise, I'm an international student, I really want to act in american ways and don't want to be considered as rude.
