Did they offer you any kind of funding? Paying NYU's high tuition fees + New York's high cost of living might really weigh you down. I suggest you weigh your options. Transitioning from Masters to PhD is definitely doable (it might set you back a lil though).

I just got an email from them today saying that I'm an "alternate candidate" for the program. Waitlisted.

Hey guys! I'm glad I found this forum. It's good to know I'm not the only one out here. I've applied to: University of Tulsa - rejected from PhD program but was offered a spot in the Masters program University of South Florida - rejected University of Central Florida - rejected University of Missouri St Louis - no news Saint Louis University - no news Colorado State University - no news So I've been hearing that people are getting acceptances and rejections from CSU and UMSL but I haven't heard anything back from them. I'm not sure if I should contact them or just wait? What do you guys think? :/
