MDP or MDEV???
Emory arranges field experiences with their partner organizations for you and covers all the costs of these summers. Current partners include: Care, The Carter Foundation, Oxfam, Save the Children, Unicef among others. With the Geneva institute you're pretty much on your own with finding internships, and financing them (of course,as with all programs, networking and applying for grants is an option). Based on conversations with faculty and students it seems Emory's program is more interested in giving students hands on opportunities, while IHEID leans more academic (hence its more diverse course selection).
