  1. I think it means you're on the waitlist and will be admitted as soon as a space opens, but at this point it seems terribly late not to have a clear decision yet (unless you school doesn't start in August/September like most US schools do?). Have you contacted them to see if there's still any chance? And you should check with them about document resubmission too if you plan on reapplying - I believe it is program-dependent.

I did get in touch a few days back; they said they were still full although they wait till Aug 31st to give a definite answer back. It starts in Sept too which is what is even more worrying.

    Thanks!

  2. I'm in the same boat as both of you. My application is on "hold".

I've been told that roughly 400 applications were submitted and they will be accepting 95 candidates. I'm curious how many of us are on "hold".

In case you're curious, I also applied to the University of Ottawa for a Master's in Globalization and International Development, as well as the University of Saskatchewan for a Masters in Political Studies. Fortunately, I was accepted to both however NPSIA is still my first choice.

Fingers crossed for all of us :)

Hey guys any update? does  being on hold mean we waitlisted?

  3. Hey!

So I applied to NPSIA's MA in Intl Affairs for Fall 2014, and received an email on the 2nd of June saying:

"I am emailing to let you know that your application to the MA International Affairs program is still on hold.  While your application was well liked by the admissions committee, we are currently full for the fall term.  Your file will remain on hold and if a space becomes available,  your file will be reviewed for admissions."

Anyone have any clue if this means I'm on waitlist OR do they still need to check my application? Do i even make the minimum requirements?

(I applied really late for the program - late March) way past 1st deadline

Also, anyone have any experience with reapplying to the same program after being waitlisted the previous year? Do you have to re-submit all documents?

    Thanks!

  4. Hey guys!

I'm new to this forum, so if I get anything wrong, please bear with me. :)

All of you have such extensive and exciting backgrounds and experiences, it's humbling!

So I wanted some advice/suggestions regarding the MA in International Affairs at NPSIA.

I have just returned to Canada following a Fellowship with Teach for India, an NGO aiming to improve the quality of education in low-income schools in India.

I hold a BA (Hons) in Sociology (graduated May 2013) from The University of Western Ontario, with a CGPA of 3.0, while my GPA of the last 2 years is 3.7.
My undergrad qualitative thesis was on the role of social media (particularly YouTube) in facilitating the Occupy Movement based on reactions of protestors.

I was a recipient of the Rotary Global Grant in 2013 (formerly Ambassadorial Scholarship), which is a $30,000 award that be used in any country where Rotary Clubs are located, and provides $30,000 for tuition, fees, travel, living expenses, and service project expenses. However, I decided to forgo this award to pursue the Fellowship with Teach for India.

I have moved a lot as a child; have lived in 3 countries - India, UAE, Canada, and speak 6 languages - English, Hindi, Urdu (fluent), and Spanish, Arabic, French (basic), and therefore have volunteer/internship (minor/ unrelated) experience in these regions.

I am very interested in the MA in International Affairs, in the International Economic Policy; am aware that the deadline for Fall 2014 was January 31, and second round offers are made before the August 31 deadline.

Would you recommend applying to the program for this fall? or Should I wait till next year?
What do you think the chances of me getting in are?

Would appreciate any/every insight! Thank you!!
    Gluck to everyone :)
