I heard from Pitt's Statistics PhD program... sort of
I got an email from a gmail account. I honestly thought it was spam, but I'm happy I opened it. It said that I received a new message in their message center of the application status check page.
Here was the message:
"Many of you have written asking about your admission/application status. We are sorry, but due to an overwhelming amount of applications and the review process, we are running later than usual with our decisions. We have made a few admission decisions, but the graduate committee is still in active review status with regard to decisions. Our apologies and thank you for your patience."
I think it's a little ridiculous that:
(a.) they are not even using official Pitt email addresses (to me that is a little unprofessional)
(b.) other programs need to hear our decisions in less than 20 days, and they haven't even sent out all of their acceptances/rejections
