I am not a regular here, but I really need advice and I found this forum.
Currently, I have an offer (with funding) for a mathematics PhD program at the University of South Carolina. They need my response by April 15th.
However, I am still waiting to hear from UCSD about their computer science PhD program. They seem very difficult to contact right now, and I've heard that they don't always give decisions by April 15th.
What is my best course of action? I've heard that an offer accepted before April 15th is binding? Do people ever ask for an extension, and is it ever successful?
