Haha, yeah, that would be really cruel, especially with the exclamation...if that were the case, I don't know why she wouldn't just tell you...or at least try not to sound so upbeat! To answer your question, I was speaking with a friend of a friend who also applied to Spanish/Romance Languages at Penn, and, upon hearing that I had as well, asked me if I was going to the prospective student weekend the following week... Believe me, for our sake, I would much rather be wrong! Now you've got me hoping I misheard. I've got to say though, Madrid sounds a lot more appealing than Phildelphia, great program or not...I guess it depends on what you're interested in studying- I'm leaning towards Golden Age lit but I'm not 100% certain.

Congrats on your acceptance and thanks for the info! I also applied and was accepted to the PhD program at U. Virginia...I asked about Penn because I know for a fact that they already had their prospective student weekend last month....so I'm pretty positive what my answer from them will be, but I thought it was worth a try!
