  1. Hi All, I just finished up my first semester of a Master's program and I'm finding there are a lot of profs who are trying to talk me out of what I originally wanted to pursue. I am interested in the history of globalization, which basically means late 1960s-1990s with a heavy focus on the United States and Russia. I've been advised that this is a huge dead end in the market as late 20th century is generally not taken seriously anyway, and an international/comparative approach makes it even worse. I'm also very interested in medieval history, so I find myself at a crossroads on which path I should take. I am interested to hear opinions on which path would be more viable in the profession. Any advice would be most welcome.
