Does anyone know which programs (globally) are good for studying the likes of Kant, Rawls, and other analytic moral and political philosophers? 'Good' may be qualified in terms of
1. People/resources available
2. Department culture (helpful faculty, tight grad student community, etc.)
3. Placement (especially for theorists!)
4. Quality of life in general area where college is situated
I've been told that places to consider would include Oxford, Toronto, UBC, Columbia, Chicago, and a whole bunch of other US programs, but don't really know where to begin seriously looking. I'm also considering that phil departments may be better for pursuing these research interests, although better suited ones are generally those in Commonwealth countries and that somewhat problematizes job prospects in poli sci departments -- especially in the US.
Any thoughts/advice would be greatly appreciated!!
