I will be attending UNC this upcoming fall and I am looking for a one bedroom in a safe apartment complex that is either close to UNC campus or is directly on the bus lines. I am looking at a budget for around $1000 / month. Do you guys have any suggestions?

How well done is the public transportation in Chapel Hill?

Hi,
It's great to learn a lot from the previous postings about UNC.
I will be attending UNC for grad school and was looking for a good place.
I am looking for an apartment complex that has good security, has coffee shops and grocery stores nearby.
Also, I am Korean and if there are some Koreans at the complex that would be great.
I was looking at Pointe at Chapel Hill.
Would anyone recommend that place?
Or any other recommendations??
Thanks.

So, I have heard back from 2 schools saying that they have waitlisted me.
I am guessing (and hoping) that the remaining 3 schools have also waitlisted me.
What are the chances of being admitted after being waitlisted?
I know the exceptional people have been accepted to multiple top-10 schools such as berkeley stanford MIT harvard northwestern Caltech.

So if I haven't heard back, does that mean rejection?

So if I didn't hear back, does that mean that I am rejected? Or that I am on the waitlist? Or that I am "still being reviewed"?

My GPA is a 3.1 and my GRE is 154V and 168Q.
I am looking at schools such as Caltech, Berkeley and Wisconsin.
I am getting a great recommendation letter from a Professor who is known well across the Chemistry society as he was my PI.
I was wondering how big of a difference that would make in the admissions process.

Hi I have a general question.
What are my chances to getting into top chemistry programs?
School: Top 10 school
GPA: isn't great in the low 3.0s
GRE: V:154 Q: 168 V: 3.0
Research: 2yrs, manuscript in preparation (first co-author)
Poster Presentation: 2 minor seminars
Awards: school grants
LoR: 2 great letters from very well-known professors, 1 good~great letter from advisor
I am mainly concerned about my GPA and GRE, although looking at this forum... I feel like I am behind on the research experience as well.

could someone provide me a list of good apartments around the UNC campus that are mostly for graduate students and are good residential complexes around the price of 800?
Thanks.
