Hi all, I have released my offers at Florida Tech and Central Michigan, and have decided to accept my offer to Portland State. It came down to PSU and CMU, and it was an extremely difficult decision. I probably spent most of the past two weeks just sitting and thinking about this decision, so if someone gets into CMU off the wait-list or is still mulling an offer, I would definitely vouch for them. It came down to me feeling a slightly better research fit at PSU and I just went with my gut. I hope these offers reach someone in need!

I heard back from them the weekend before last, a little less than two weeks ago. I only applied for the MA, didn't think I could get into the PhD, in hindsight maybe I should have done it anyways since I didn't know it would count for both. It was just an email; no interview or prior contact.

I've taken myself off of the wait list at Albany; I believe one of their slots has recently freed up for admission and they are reaching into the wait list to gauge potential interest. Hope this is helpful to anyone on the bubble! I also declined my admission to George mason's MA program as well.

I also got the waitlist email from Albany with the same information. I will probably stay on the list for now but depending on how my visits go for the next few weeks I may give up that spot, along with UCF's waitlist if anyone else is on there.

Would you pass up the jobs if any of the aforementioned programs admits you? If so I would give it at least two more weeks if you have several that were submitted in January. If these programs are December deadlines, I might consider contacting someone as it is likely you're on a waitlist and/or rejected but without any notification. If your job offers are willing to hold that for you until you can decide then that is the best case scenario. April 15th is the hard deadline for decisions so you're guaranteed to find out by then.

I also interviewed for Wright and have not heard back post-interview.

Hey there! I'm the one who posted the FIT acceptance. I had interviewed with them the week prior so I'd imagine they are just starting to send them out now. Hope that is helpful!

Congrats! I am also attending PSU's Visit Day! I think the visit day helps you get a sense of who you could potentially be collaborating with in terms of faculty and grad students, and overall just to see how well you fit in with the people as well as to learn more about the program. I was told by my POI that they typically only extend formal offers after the visit day just so that everyone gets a chance to meet and both sides can determine whether the environment is the right fit or not.

I got an email this morning from FIT to schedule a phone interview for next week.
