accepted at Yale (CP/Pol Econ)
Congrats! Did you find out this morning and was it via email from a professor? Thanks.

Congrats to you, too! Minnesota, right? That's great department. Don't despair about Berkeley! Last year, they did about half of their acceptances one day, and half the next, so we could get lucky tomorrow! But even if you don't hear good news, you have an excellent acceptance in your hand, so don't worry about it.
Thanks, I'm psyched about Minnesota! Best of luck everyone.

Sorry to be a pest, but was the email from a professor or from the department? Thanks!
No worries -- sorry, I'm having a busy day. It was from a professor. Congrats to all the Berkeley and NYU acceptances! I haven't heard from them and so assume I didn't get in.

Did you explicitly get an acceptance? Someone else posted a similar story about a fellowship nomination a few weeks ago, but they hadn't been accepted yet.
It was an acceptance.

OK, I was embarrassed to say this at first because I thought I was the only one, but I'll confess I'm kind of a nervous wreck as well. I've been checking up on this site every 5-10 mins and couldn't even sleep one minute last night thinking about whether we'd hear from UCSD today. They really had better just get it over with tomorrow, as they did it on a Wednesday last year. If it's not gonna be till Thursday- well, then boy I'll be pissed off.
And btw, I know Minnesota is no Harvard but it's still a very good school and near the top of my list, so I'm taking the posting the same way you Harvard people were taking the one we now know to be a fake. Thus, I would greatly appreciate it if the person who posted it either explain the admission or admit it was a prank (if it was so).
AP, I claim Minnesota. I was told that I was nominated for another fellowship and maybe that's why I heard earlier. Best of luck to everyone!

Hello everyone!
I received my first reply last Friday; and it was an offer from Stanford incl. a 5 year fellowship, stipend etc.
From browsing through the results thread I figured there are a couple of other people on this forum who got in as well, so I just wanted to say hi and congratulate you!
If you got in, are you attending the Admit Weekend in March? And what are your subfields? And, most importantly, any thoughts on whether you will accept your offer yet?
Congrats, Oxon! Would you mind telling us your subfield?

Hey guys, just wanted to pop out and say hello and best of luck to everybody. I am applying in IR to a bunch of schools: NYU, Columbia, Harvard, MIT, Princeton, Yale, Chicago, Northwestern, Minnesota, Michigan, Stanford, Berkeley, UCLA, along with a couple masters' programs in the UK. Top 3 LAC, pretty good grades, so-so gres, fair amount of research experience, focused SOP, etc. I know I don't really have safeties on my list, but if admissions don't work out, I'll take it as a sign that I'm better suited for something else.
To whoever suggested vacationing as a way to divert your attentions, I can concur. I have been on a couple fun trips since I turned in my applications and it's a great way to get your mind off obsessing over results. That said, unfortunately, email access is near universal and I still haven't found a solution to the frequent and nervous email checks...

looks like someone else got an acceptance email from berkeley ... are we going to write this one off as well?
Hello! Where are you getting all these reports of acceptances from, if I may ask? Thanks.

Claiming the Yale acceptance. To those who are still awaiting responses, my sincere advice is to stop checking the results tab. I have come to the realization that this entire "notifications" process is so arbitrary (with some people hearing early and others later) that following results online can only lead to one possible outcome: more anxiety for you! Seriously, guys, been there, done that, and I'm so over it. I am making a vow to not look at the results page until I hear back from all the schools I applied to. Best of luck to everybody!!
