I dont think you should be too concerned with "taking up spots". You need to do whats best for you. Whatever option you feel is best then do that. If i were you I would NOT remove yourself off the waitlist. That is just my opinion. Do whatever you feel is best. Personally, if I were you, I would go with option 1 - 100%. Dont give up on U of T, and dont remove yourself off the waitlist! I see no benifit to that - only potentially a lot of harm. Also, if you get into MSW you should take it. It is so hard to get into. If you waste money then so be it, but better to be secured a spot in MSW then to give it up and then have a hard time getting into advanced standing.

An SSW is good experience however I dont think it would make a BIG change in your application. Why is your application lacking? Are your grades an A? If they are not I strongly suggest taking more undergrad courses to boost your GPA. If it is solely experience, i would recommend volunteering with your local Childrens Aid Society, as I beleive that was really helpful to my application. These are my thoughts. Good luck!

Rosi is down for maintenance so that doesnt mean anything.... No decision yet for York U probably means you got rejected. I also have no decision yet on my file and I called and they said they are still looking over files so if it says no decision yet it means that they just havent made a decision yet on your file. Having said that, I got confirmation that they already sent out all acceptances .....

I volunteer part time at The Childrens Aid Society Toronto - North York Branch. I also volunteer at Community Living Toronto for adults with intellectual disabilities. I would strongly recommend finding a "Community Living" and volunteering there as it is a lot of fun, they generally always look for volunteers, and it looks good on your resume/CV.
