  1. I was wondering if anybody could enlighten me on how competitive school counseling MA/MEd programs are. Particularly on the west coast. I have a decent amount of experience (suicide/crisis hotline employee, substitute teacher, previous PreK teacher as well as volunteering as a child grief group facilitator and assisting a child life specialist in a hospital with recreational/therapeutic activities), strong LOR and good GRE scores. My concern here is that my GPA is a little lower than I think it should be in applying to these programs (3.2 - 3.3). Then again, I haven't been able to find very good info online on these programs so I was wondering if anyone on here could give me some insight and maybe some advice on the best colleges to apply to based on my situation. Thanks in advance.
